Chris Ngabirano was the best guide! We utilized this company to visit the Pearl of Africa. The guide Chris was an outstanding guide who soon became our friend and we still stay in contact. We visited the Golden Monkeys, Chimps, Tree Climbing lions in addiction to our number one bucket list event of hiking to the Mountain Gorillas. We ended the trip by White Water Rafting the Nile. The accommodations were excellent, had first class vehicles, met some wonderful people along the way and I even had time to get a Ugandan Haircut. Gorilla trek and Rwanda visit We did a 4 day tour of Rwanda and Uganda with Chris (which was part of a bigger trip to East Africa) and had a great time. We flew in to Kigali and the main purpose of our trip was to visit the gorillas in Uganda. We stayed for 2 nights in Rwanda where we did a city tour visiting the genocide memorial and a local craft market and a trek in the volcanoes national park to find golden monkeys. This trek was excellent and we had great fun watching the monkeys and got some brilliant photos. The highlight though was definitely the gorilla trekking in Bwindi forest in Uganda. Thanks to knowing local guides and the people who track the gorilla families Chris secured us a place to track a family not too far in the forest and with 10 gorillas in total in the group. Spending time with them up close and observing their behaviour was an unforgettable experience and definitely something worth doing. Chris was a very helpful, friendly, knowledgable guide who was very accommodating. I’d definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a guide.

Great Gorilla experience Our guide (Chris) picked us up from Kigali airport and we were treated to 4 days of an incredibly unique experience. Starting with the Rwandan Genocide museum, followed by a drive into the Uganda mountains where Chris grew up. He is extremely passionate about his country and that shows in everything he does Chris made sure our gorilla experience was memorable - and spending the time with these amazing creatures was one of the highlights of our trip. We found Chris through Amani Afrika - who we would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for an African experience. Chris also recommended a great eco-lodge situated alongside a beautiful lake. A great way to relax after our trek through the impenetrable forest.

Engage the Best Guide Ever for Your Trip to See Gorillas Our guide Chris Ngabirano made our 11-day trip in Uganda the best it could possibly have been, other than to make it longer so we could have enjoyed more time with him and his expertise in this beautiful country The very best feature of our travels was our guide-driver, Chris Ngabirano. Of all the guides we've ever had in our travels, he is far superior. He was incredible and made us feel like more than guests...more like treasured friends. He shared his expertise so well, and it was obvious that he enriched our experiences by setting us up with the very best local guides available --his contacts made a huge difference in securing special attention and assistance for us every step of the way. His knowledge of everywhere we went and everything we saw was so enlightening. Be sure to engage Chris as your guide-driver because he will make certain you have the best adventure of your life -- that is what he did for us. Our trip involved myriad successful pursuits for wildlife in a mountain gorilla habituation experience in the Rushaga area of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (truly grueling and super strenuous, although with a tremendous payoff), golden monkey habituation experience in Mgahinga, tree climbing lion seach in Ishasha, collared lion tracking and Kazinga Channel cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park, chimpanzee trek in Kibale National Park, walk in Bigodi Wetlands, and quest for the Shoebill Stork in Mabamba Swamp, and we topped it all off with whitewater rafting on the headwaters of the Nile near Jinja. (We should also have gone to Murchison Falls but, in the interest of time for whitewater rafting, we skipped this.) We traveled in June, which offered us perfect weather at the beginning of the dry season.

Our visit spanned five days in March/April 2018 & included the following sites: Camp Kigali Kigali Genocide Memorial Hotel des Mille Collines Reconciliation Village near to Nyamata Ntarama Church Nyamata Church Ubumwe Grand Hotel Kigali “Umuganda Walk through Nyamirambo” Green Mosque Nyamirambo Women’s Centre Kaplaki Handcraft Market Meze Fresh Campaign Against Genocide Museum at the Rwanda Parliament Inema Art & Cultural Center Chris & Scovia were with us for the duration & were excellent. They shared their personal experiences with each of our participants (students between the ages of 16-18), put us in contact with a number of local individuals & organisations that helped to make our visit even more fulfilling, were flexible so that the educational needs of our participants could be met & were a delight to plan & work with. We strongly recommend working with Chris, Scovia & Destinations African Gorilla Limited & will do so when we return.

Safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park and gorilla tracking in Biwindi National Park We booked a tour with Chris for safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park and gorilla tracking in Biwindi National Park. Our adventure started at Fort Portal, where Chris picked us up and drove us directly to Queen Elizabeth National Park. There we saw elephants, ugandan cops, hippos and fortunately we had the chance to see two lions throughout the boat ride and the game drive in the park. Of course, the highlight of our journey with Chris was the gorilla tracking. The hike to the gorillas started early in the morning after a short briefing and it took us about one and a half hours to find them. It was a fantastic experience to spend an hour with these impressive animals. Chris, our guide, was very friendly, helpful and amazed us with his knowledge about the region uf Biwindi National Park and its animals – primarily as he has worked for the gorilla habituation and spent some time with these fantastic creatures. He made the adventure very enjoyable. We would recommend this company and definitely our tour guide (and new brother) Chris to do the gorilla tracking for sure!
